Then I went to my local BestBuy for BF2, if I like 4 expansions, as bestbuy before I ask them, I'll buy em all, so I do not ... I need to know not only have to play BF2 with others, or do I need the extensions to other people playing?

Everyone has their own server, but only a few servers Armored Fury and Euro Forces. The only people who regularly have BF2 and Special Forces, allowing you to be level 2 released.
Just get BF2
